This art was created as a pitch for a 2D TV commercial that I would have Animated and Directed. The pitch I thought was fun and very much in line with the sexiness that the client was after for the shampoo commercial. It lost to a pitch by another animation company that presented to do a 3D commercial. I did see the final 3D version when it aired, and I found it lacking. It seems that there is a general feeling out there in the commercial world (in Australia at least) that 3D is better in all circumstances.
3D =can= be beautiful, but there is always this feeling of 'too perfect' to it that I don't get from 2D. This gentleman is quite well done, and I would have loved seeing him in a commercial.
It's very sad that so many big businesses are thinking "slick and perfect" are the best ways to go. Something like this has more character to it than something meticulously sculpted and rendered by a computer.

it's one of my favorite works of art that I've done. It's cute, and sexy, and was part of my original portfolio that got me my current job that I've been in for 4.5yrs. What a pity I'm not allowed to have it on display anymore at my work station where I work at Aristocrat, as it and works similar have been deemed to be homoerotic, and/or sexually offensive by my new supervisor Brett Jackson. I've been given an official warning of termination if I dare to view a work like this again online, or even have it on my person at work even in a sketchbook. Harsh times.
