Queen Titania. Szekeres.A reworked detail originally from the "Princess Maggie and the Magpies" fractured fairytale artwork of the three Ravens fairytale. The original full artwork was done as a poster for the Amoveable Theatre stage production at the Royal Botanic Gardens. Rebecca Cole was the Australian Actress that played the role of Princess Maggie, and this was the first time that I worked off photos for one of my paintings. I posed her and organized the lighting, then painted her using the photo reference. It was exciting to have the poster with the princess looking like the actual actress that played the role. The new "Queen Titania" version of the artwork is to be on my very first CD cover released from Universal Music in November 2009. Queen Titania artwork © Jozef Szekeres 2009

and you know what ? I've just seen the movie yesterday evening !!!

I love those thorns in her hair ...
I can't explain very well what I feel looking at this , but be sure it's awesoem !!!!!!!!

Thanks so much. It's a "still" figure, not much happening, but I try to infuse intent behind the eyes, so therefore it becomes a moment in motion, rather then a pin-up pose.

The light WAS fun to play with.
