Midnight Magic Pencil. Szekeres

This is the tonal study of the the pencils. In the final published "hot" colored version (published with the name Moonlight Waltz) the characters were not colored nor rendered by me, however I did do the painted background.

I love that it's in black and white! It just makes it look likes it's from an illustration from a book.

Wow, this is truly amazing! I don't think it needs coloring to maintain the magic of the scene, but I'd like to see it. =)

It's based on the story of Cinderella, right? I love how the prince holds her hand and the way she looks at it. It's obvious they're falling in love. It's doesn't need words.

The clock strikes midnight and the magic reaches out to her and her coach to turn them back to rags and pumpkin respectively. She is so taken by the moment of the kiss by the Prince, that her right hand doesn't know what her left hand is doing, or more specifically that the magic is about to engulf her in it's devastatingly powerful kiss and embrace just as the Prince tenderly holds and kisses her.

Thanks, I liken this to the Beauty and the Beast B/W artwork I have here. When I get the time, I will render them up. This one probably digitally. but the Beauty and the Beast would be traditionally painted (I've painted the background already).

Thank you. Hopefully the colored version will also look like a book illustration, but one that is color.

Thank you. Wasn't going for the realistic look with this one, more like doll-like prettiness. But certainly the result can be seen as a happy result between realism and toony.
