EF2.COVER.Szekeres

Here's the second cover (sans type/title) for Elf-fin.

This is the companion piece to the Hyfus artwork on the first issue cover. So with these two works we've revealed both the leading characters with their updated designs in this new series.

The color rough created as reference for this finished work is here: [link]

Here is Tilaweed as she appeared in 1994: [link]

I love the detail, the braids in her hair, the beads, the little creature above the sea turtle, the colours are vibrant and i love how there is a sense of movement. i think her body is a little unrealistic, but then she is a mythical creature, so i spose anything goes! i think maybe the tail should be longer also, unless she's a short mermaid hehe. i love how youve coloured the turtle and put webs in her fingers. there is a lot of attention to detail which makes it a far more enjoyable image. im going to feature it at my blog on [link]

I love the green oposed to the blue of the Hyfus piece. The pose looks as if she is waiting with great concern on the return of her better half. Almost a longing look on her face. Her tail is magnificent as is her hair. I notice her shellpiece is not there anymore, which is partly a shame but also allows her hair to really flow and shine, great details with the braids.

Also..'No-wing' riding the turtle, great to see the little feisty one again.

Not premium member, but I have a few suggestions for the piece I thought I'd throw out.

Tilaweed
Her form is beautiful. I love how you maintained the litheness that defines her orignal form, but added more substance, ie more hips, less ribs, sculpted arms. It give her power yet the porcelin features and magestic wavy hair support her fragility. The addition of the braids and lack of headress give her a much younger appearance and the freshness of youth. My two suggestions, and one may seem odd, is that her tail does seem a bit short but then perhaps a longer tail comes with age which makes sense. The 2nd suggestion (and stranger) is the lack of eyelashes. Having a lusher set of lashes, perhaps just along the side, would balance out her hair and enhance her sultryness.

Background:
I love No-Wing riding the turtle. He looks so adorable and his expression is one of absolute glee. The turtle is lovely and is very accurate with the attention to scales and fins. The sunlight brightening the water above Tilaweed focuses the attention on her without being direct centered. However, with the sunlight that diffused in the water, she must be close to surface. Lightening the seaweed clump in color, paler greens or perhaps continuing the light behind and through the kelp bed instead of redoing the kelp strands might punch it up. It seems too dark and closed a collection with the lighter and open ferns behind them to the right and the big fern on the far left.

Well, that's my slight critique! I LOVE this picture so much already as it and cannot wait for Elf-fin to hit the presses! :D

Well, that
