This started as a scanned line drawing that I rendered in photoshop. Her hair, which there is so much of, and all the little butterflies took the most time. The background isn't meant to be anything, just petals flying about, it just worked for me as a texture behind the girl and the butterflies.
Just to keep track of all the little butterflies, I named each one on its own unique layer. Originally painted in 2006 with the working title Butterfly Delight, it has been released as a poker machine game in 2008 called Butterfly Kiss. This artwork must have been considered the strongest artwork/game for 08, as it was used as the cover art for the 2008 Aristocrat NSW Catalogue.
